Three events. One day.

All experience levels and all types of dogs are welcome to participate. 
Participants and their dogs can enter in any combination of events. Your dog MUST be physically capable of comfortably completing the distance you enter. 
All races will be held at the Birch Hill Recreation Area.

​Bib pick-up (for those pre-registered) or race-day registration must be complete at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each event.  Registration will open at 7:00 am in the "old" warm up hut. A short race-meeting will be held 30 minutes prior to each event.
  • One-dog bikejor will start at 8:00 am with 30 second interval starts. Registration will be held from 7:00 - 7:30.  Mandatory race meeting will be held at 7:30. Because August has been so warm this year, we have decided to shorten the bikejor class to 3.25 km. See map below. Males and females will be ranked in one class.
  • One-dog canicross will start at 9:00 am with 30 second intervals. Registration will be held from 8:00 - 8:30.  Mandatory race meeting will be held at 8:30.The race will be 5km. See map below. Males and females will be ranked in separate classes.
  • Three person mass start canicross relay will start at 10:00 am. Registration will be held from 9:00 - 9:30.  Mandatory race meeting will be held at 9:30. The race will be 3km.  Each leg will be 1km.  See map below. Any combination of sexes can make up your three person relay team, but there must be three different people entered to constitute a team.  ​
Equipment Requirements
Helmets and a shock absorbent line measuring 2.5 - 3 meters in length when extended are required for the bikejor class. All dogs must be fastened to a harness and not attached at the neck.  Please no muzzles. If you have any questions or concerns about the requirements, please contact kldunlap@alaska.edu

Pre-registration race fees
$15.00 entry fee for each individual race or $25.00 to enter both races.
The relay is free for anyone  entered in either of the individual races.  For all team members that are not entered in an individual event, the entry fee is $10.00.

Race day entry fees
$20.00 entry fee for each individual race or $30.00 to enter both races. The relay is still free for anyone entered in either of the individual races.  For all team members that are not entered in an individual event, the entry fee is $15.00.

Awards and Prizes
All entry fees will go towards prize money in the individual events.  Purse breakdown and distribution will depend on number of participants.  Top three positions in each class will also get a small prize. There will be no purse on the relay event but the individuals that are a part of the winning relay team will all win a small prize.

Course Map and Description
Canicross: 5 km. Starts in front of the timing tower and continues up the ramp.  Course includes the Relay Loop and the Tower Loop.  After exiting the Tower Loop, the race will proceed down the East Ramp back to the Stadium.  In the stadium the course will go down White Bear Access to Meridian Cut Off to the Warm up Loop.  The race will proceed to the stadium and end in front of the timing tower.  

Bikejor: 3.25 km. The bikejor course will be the same as the canicross course but will eliminate the Tower Loop.

Relay: 1 km loops.  The race will be a mass start in front of the big building and cross the stadium.  Racers will enter White Bear Access to Meridian Cut Off  and then to the Warm up Loop. Relay team members will tag their team members in the Stadium in front of the big building.  Last leg will finish in front of the timing tower.
